Amplified Publishing Friday Lunchtime Talk

This event is hosted by Pervasive Media studio for free on the Watershed YouTube Channel.

Over the past year we've been running the programme Amplified Publishing through Bristol + Bath Creative R+D. We've had a cohort of 10 researchers from the creative industries and academia working with industry partners across multiple sectors, from visual arts, zines, music, games, VR/AR and machine learning. In addition we've funded three ground-breaking prototype projects all aimed at helping creators make work and find new audiences. What have we learned from this process? In a tech world dominated by false information, walled gardens, and filter bubbles, how can technology create positive change for artists and makers? In this talk Kate Pullinger will explore some of the findings from the project and talk about her hopes for the future of this work.

Kate Pullinger is a novelist who has worked with digital technology for more than twenty years. Her most recent novel is Forest Green and her digital work, Breathe, was created as part of the Ambient Literature project. In 2021 she was awarded the Marjorie Luisebrink Career Achievement Award by the Electronic Literature Organisation. She runs the Centre for Cultural and Creative Industries at Bath Spa University.
